Mysto~Surf operates Surf Adventure Boat Trips through the Bahamas in the un-chartered surf regions along the outer reefs of Rum Cay, Conception, Samana Cay and Mayaguana, where we go to surf, dive & fish.  During the late spring and early fall months we also head out to surf secret spots in the Abacos, the Berry Islands, Cat Island, Long Island and Eleuthera.  We venture to places that lie off the beaten path of most sailors, and especially to places where surfers can’t easily get to, to surf secluded spots that are better exposed to the north and south swells of the Atlantic. Due to the remoteness and inaccessibility of the places we go, that limit most surfers from easily traveling to, many never discover the abundance of good waves that exist along the many outer reefs of these islands.  Making a surf trip out to the remote out-islands of the Bahamas usually proves to be a very time consuming, difficult & costly venture, especially whenever attempting to reach the remote breaks by land, that are often located far from the small towns situated on the calmer leeward coasts (where the only available accommodations fpr travelers usually is found). And since camping is prohibited in the Bahamas (and is strictly enforced), the only way one can affordably surf the better spots in the Bahamas is to go out on a well-provisioned boat capable of navigating ocean waters – for which one still needs the knowledge of local surfers and seasoned experience of a skipper who know exactly where to go.  Except for a few hardcore surfers who've sailed out on their own boats and have discovered some of these spots for themselves, most surf breaks in the Bahamas have remained a mystery for all these years........ that is .... until Now!

BEST TIME TO SURF: Surfing in the Bahamas is consistent during the fall, winter and spring months, from October to April. Swells typically come from winter storms heading off the east coast of the United States into the Atlantic Ocean, which often generate strong swells that push into the Caribbean, even as far down as South America.  The same swells that slam the coasts of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic also break along the outer reef passes of the Bahamas, particularly the far out islands of San Salvador, Mayaguana and Samana, often with the same size and intensity.  Yet instead of surfing the crowded surf breaks on the populated Caribbean islands or surfing the harhs frigid cold waters of the United States, one can enjoy being anchored out on a private boat in seclusion from other surfers, enjoying beautiful waves that wrap flawlessly over colorful coral reefs in crystal clear blue warm waters. In addition to surfing beautiful uncrowded waves, the spearfishing snorkeling, diving and fishing are awesome!

OUR GOAL:  Since the early 80's, the crew of Mysto Surf has been exploring undiscovered surf breaks through-out the Bahamas and parts of the Caribbean, including some regions along the coasts of Central and South America. We can get you to some of the best surf in the Bahamas with most conveniences that are otherwise only available from a land-based operation. In fact, we can even anchor so close to some breaks that you only have to jump from the boat to paddle out into the line-up.  Accommodations are aboard a 57’ world cruising motor sailboat that has been out-fitted for the sole purpose of Surf-Exploration, that can comfortably accommodate up to five guests and has most of the ususal amenities to relax comfortably while cruising in tropical climates.  Our crew also has been exploring and surfing un-discovered breaks throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean islands most of their lives, who are experienced captains that understand how to live on the sea, who possess a real passion for adventure. They are also good surfers who want to surf great waves in uncrowded places like you ........ where their goal is to welcome you aboard to share this exciting Adventure!
